135 George St
Commercial Signage and Directory Design for a Heritage Industrial Space
Studio Locale partnered with Blackspoint Development to design custom signage for 135 George, a revitalized factory building in Cambridge that once housed the South Waterloo Agricultural Society and has since been thoughtfully converted into a modern commercial space.
The signage system, including a custom directory sign, was designed to complement the building’s updated aesthetic while giving a subtle nod to its industrial past. Material choices and detailing draw from the original structure’s utilitarian roots, incorporating elements like iron and glass to echo the building’s simple, durable character.
The result is a signage solution that feels authentic to the space—functional, contemporary, and grounded in its historical context.
